Please find      enclosed the Parklands Play Area Development Plan for 2009 and also a copy of a plan detailing the proposed development and improvements for the play area. Please take some time to read the development plan and answer the short survey attached to give us an idea of your opinions and views on the proposals. Please could you return the questionnaire to the above address by the …………… If you prefer you can download and fill in the form from our website and then email it to admin@parklands-ra.org.

We will be arranging an open meeting for all who wish to attend in the near future, where we hope representatives from Sussex Police, Maresfield Parish Council, Wicksteed Playscapes and the New Parklands Residents Association who will be available to answer any questions you may have. We will advise you of the date and venue as soon as arrangements have been made.

 

Please have in mind that all the ideas and proposals contained in the development plan are subject to successful fund raising, and therefore may be changed or reduced as need be, you will be notified of any significant alterations. We will also be taking the views and opinions of all neighbours of the play area into careful consideration before any final proposal is submitted to Maresfield Parish Council for approval.

 

The residents association is currently working with Sussex Police and Maresfield Parish Council on ways to address any antisocial behaviour that occurs in the play area. One proposal is that the play area be closed during the hours of darkness in winter and after around eight or nine o’clock in summer, we are currently investigating how this could be enforced. It is hoped that upgrading the fencing and gates (please refer to the development plan) will help to make the play area more secure.

 

In order for the police to build up an accurate picture of what is occurring in and around the play area we are asking for all neighbours to report all incidents of antisocial behaviour or disturbances coming from the play area. This can be reported on 0845 6070999 or if you feel threatened or believe someone is in danger please call 999. By logging all the calls the police will be able allocate more time and resources to patrolling parklands, and in particular the play area.
