It was noted that this had been the first formal meeting of the Residents Association since the 22nd of  July, thus there were no matters arising from the minutes of the last meeting.

1.     Christmas Party. – CS.

Planned for Sat 12th December. Village Hall booked and paid for. Balloon Lady booked, will require ฃ55 on the night. Charlotte and Paula to shop for supplies, presents etc. Need Father Christmas.

All children on Parklands invited, other children of friends, supporters also welcome.

2.     Play Area. – EB

CB, CS, EB  and Fran Davies from Changing Spaces had attended meeting with MPC on 17th November. MPC has finally given the play area project its full support, and the hard work of all those involved had been commented on. PCSO Katie Breeds also kindly supported the project at this meeting. (CB and EB to thank her.)

MPC also agreed to fund annual maintenance costs of up to ฃ1000 a year.

Planning permission can now submitted, all comments to be with WDC by 26th Dec. Decision due in Jan.

Public Consultation held in Oct was big success. It was noted that only one household from Forest Park had attended, and as a result it was recommended that a rep from NPRA went and knocked door to door, as a final method of consolation. This is all completed and has been submitted to WDC planning.

3.     Notice Board – CB

WDC had confirmed that planning permission would be required for the notice board. Also possible issue with land ownership?

CB to follow this up

4.     WRAG update – BM.

BM had attended the AGM of WRAG and also the opening of the new Residents Resource Centre in Horam. WRAG are continuing to push for better rights and conditions for WDC tenants. The Resource centre can be used by Residents groups wishing to access IT facilities, printing etc. It also has a meeting / training room. Many WDC tenant meetings will be held there.

5.     Projects for next year.

Clean Up day was suggested – Invite Nick Redman and Sam Astbury to next meeting (CB to follow up.)

Hold litter picking day at same time as Maresfield Conservation Society, this will help forge links and also improve the amount of litter cleared from whole village.

Need to find out what other residents want, and recruit more members of the committee to deliver new projects.

Village Fete – find out date and book stall if not done already.(CB to follow up)
